Understanding roles
Roles decide what someone can see and change. Joining a Circle does not give access to every record; sensitive areas have additional restrictions.
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Manage the Circle, invitations and members, and coordinate shared care records. Another person's private Wishes remain private unless shared. |
| Family member | Add and update shared appointments, tasks, notes, documents, shopping and expenses; access close-family Memories. |
| Primary carer | Coordinate and update shared care information, including medication records, documents and expenses; access close-family Memories. |
| Friend / helper | Help with shared tasks and shopping. Medication records, documents, finances and Memories are not available. |
| Professional / carer | Time-limited access to care categories the owner shares. Financial and legal documents and Memories remain unavailable. |
| View only | Read permitted shared information without editing. Documents, medication records, finances and Memories remain unavailable. |
| My Circle (loved one) | A simpler view for the person receiving care, with larger controls and fewer choices: see what's happening, add shopping items and leave notes when access is enabled. |
Each Circle has one Owner at a time. Ownership can be transferred if the person organising care changes.
